My Always Changing (Usually Growing) Master TBR List

All the Books I Want to Read - My Master TBR List

I thought it would be fun to attempt to keep a relatively updated master TBR list. I wanted the list for myself and thought I may as well share it!

I buy most of my books used so that means I will sometimes pick up a book I have never heard anything about because it was really cheap. Therefore, just because a book is on this list does not mean it is a good one. I spend an average of about $1 per book so I am not too concerned if I buy one that I end up just returning to the thrift store.

The TBR is broken up into two sections: books I own and books I don’t own (yet). Because the books I own section is so long I created a Read Your Bookshelf Challenge for myself (and anyone else who wants to join in), the challenge is to help me read some books I own that I may not necessarily pick up otherwise. I also plan on pulling a few books from my shelf each month that interest me.

If you like books, I share my monthly TBR in my book-ish newsletter and monthly reading wrap ups over on the blog.

My TBR Cart

In January 2020 I created a TBR cart (a place where I put most of my unread books) and a challenge to help me get the books read, you can find out more in this video:

Books I Own That I Want to Read

For the record, there are more books that I own that I didn’t record here. As I was looking through I realized there are some that I am not even interested in reading. I am going to set those aside and possibly get rid of them in awhile if I still feel that way.

Books I Don’t Own (Yet) That I Want to Read

These are generally books that I have heard many good things about. I keep an eye out at thrift stores for them and every now and then I actually buy a book I don’t own. Of course, when I’m actually trying to think of the books I want to read my mind goes pretty much blank. The list is longer than this, I just don’t remember them all right now, I’ll add to it as I remember more (which is exactly why I have this list!).

Peter Pan

the rest of the Emily Starr series (I only own Emily of New Moon)

the rest of the Anne the series (I only own Anne of Green Gables)

Winter Garden

The Great Alone

Letters from Father Christmas

Beartown

The Winter People

Peace Like a River

Here’s where I got ambitious (or organized?) and started breaking down my unowned TBR into genres:

FANTASY/SCI-FI

Foundryside

Mistborn

Warbreaker

The Bear and the Nightingale

Cry of the Raven
