What We’ve Been Reading Lately – August

A big part of our life and homeschool is reading, if you haven’t already signed up for the book-ish newsletter I would suggest you do so, I have some fun stuff I will be sharing there soon. Sharing what we’ve been reading each month is a great practice for me to look back on the month and I love sharing about our reads because then other people read them and we can continue to have great book discussions. I also enjoy getting book recommendations, so if you have one (or more) that you think we would enjoy, let me know!   THE MOM I’ve mentioned a few times but this…

So, weekly this past winter and monthly in the summer I’ve been sending out my book-ish newsletter letting you know what we’ve been reading lately and some other book-ish resources and a couple of really good book deals that I came across. For the foreseeable future I am going to share what we we’ve been reading over here on the blog, but if you like all things books I would still suggest signing up for the book-ish newsletter because I have some fun book related things that I will be sharing there coming up soon!   WHAT WE’RE CURRENTLY READING     THE MOM This has been a slow reading…

The Books I Read in November and My Reading Goal for 2019

Oddly I didn’t really take any pictures of the books I read in November, so here’s a photo of a library in Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, Netherlands instead. Add that to my to-travel list . . . I’ve been thinking a lot about goals for 2019 and I one of my reading goals for the year is actually to read less books. Whenever I watch You’ve Got Mail I always get hung up on this one line: So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn’t it be the other way around? I actually think about that line a lot. That really is a big fear of mine.…

The Books I Read in October

These reading wrap ups are really showing me how quickly the months are flying by. I kept wanting to type “The Books I Read in September” for the title of this post, but that was last month, this is October’s reading wrap up. I’ve been filming a few book videos lately. I had my fall book haul and I made a November TBR list and have considered doing a reading wrap up video at some point down the road, we’ll see. Anywho, October was another really good reading month. I feel like I’ve finally figured out the type of books I like to read, I think learning to stop quitting…

The Books I Read in September

Well, September was a good reading month! I read eleven books and in this round-up I’m also including one that I finished October 1st – Girl, Wash Your Face, because there are so many conflicting and controversial thoughts and reviews on it and I wanted to share my opinion on it. I also learned a lot about myself as a reader this month. For the first time ever I decided to stop being a person who quits books. I quit a lot of books in August and ended up feeling blah about my reading. I didn’t quit any in September and felt fired up about reading. I have also made the decision…

The Books I Read in August

Last month I started my first list of books I read the previous month, I’m excited to make this a monthly thing because it’s a nice review for me to see which books I read and think about why I enjoyed them. This month I am going to do something different and share the books that I started but didn’t finish, and maybe why I didn’t finish them. I’d love to know if this is something you would like to see continued or not. In August I actually didn’t finish very many books and it is partly because I wasted so much time starting books that I didn’t enjoy. Another…
